All parking validation is paid for at Set and Flow front desk. Any overages are paid by machine in the garage.
- How do I enter?
There are two entrances to Set and Flow Yoga. If you are walking, please come in the La Brea blvd entrance. If you come in through the garage, there is an access door in the garage.
- What should I expect my first time?
Please arrive 15 minutes before class so we can sign you in and familiarize you with the studio. If you would like a more in-depth studio tour, please call and one can be arranged. All intro offers require proof of residence within 5 square miles of Set and Flow Yoga.
- What do I wear?
Wear athletic attire. Mostly hot yoga wear. It wisks away sweat, breathes better and you can move easier regardless if it’s burpess or downdog. While we highly recommend you wearing shoes to the studio, we encourage barefoot culture for all the added benefits like improving arch strength, improved ankle mobility and connection to the ground.
- What do I bring?
Bring a friend, bring a smile… Everything else you can purchase or rent from us. Yoga mat, towel and bottled water suggested. Hair ties are available for purchase.
- Are there lockers
Yes, and you don’t have to bring a lock. All the lockers at SFY are self coding. If you do forget your code, don’t be surprised if our front desk staff makes you do 10 pushups or 10 squats. If you forget your code twice, you’ll be asked to do 10 pushups and 10 squats.
- Why are the rooms so hot?
Please pardon us while we repair our air conditioning.. But seriously, it’s a hot studio. Working out in the heat has a ton of physical benefits. You can read about it in our blog.
- Do you have any Slow Flow or basic stretching classes?
As a matter of fact, we do. Look into our Restorative and Yin classes. First one to fall asleep in class gets milk and cookies.
- Why do you offer your students milk and cookies and yet never make available milk and cookies?
Milk and cookies are a metaphor. A metaphor for a job well done. If we were to actually give you milk and cookies, that would be reward eating. And why would you want to reward eat after earning your milk and cookies?
- Can I tip my instructor?
Our instructors very much appreciate gratitude. There are tip boxes with the instructor’s names on the wall adjacent to the lockers. Tips help our instructors know that you like their class. It also helps to support them doing the thing they love and further their education. It also helps to keep the best instructors working at Set and Flow.
Our instructors rely on your generous tipping. It’s good karma and kale ain’t free!
- What happens if I arrive late?
Official studio policy is, you cannot enter class late. There are several reasons including safety and respect for other students in practice. Fortunately we are likely have another class starting in 15 minutes.

- What is Kombucha?
That’s the same question I asked the Kombucha sales team! They’re a lovely couple and we’re happy to give them business. Evidently Kombucha is a pro-biotic, all natural, fermented tea. Some people say it tastes like unicorns dancing in your mouth.
- Are there teacher trainings?
Yes. If you want to learn to teach yoga, pilates, bootcamp, etc., we actually have a full service teacher training academy adjacent to the Set and Flow Yoga Studio. You can visit www.setandflowacademy.com for more information.

All spots are first come, first serve. Customers who arrive first have priority.

Set and Flow intro offers change on the regular. Think of our intro offers as sales for new customers. If we ran the same sale all the time what fun would that be?
- What is an intro offer?
An intro offer is any partnership, comp card, coupon, incentive, etc. that brings new customers to Set and Flow. Class pass, Groupon, Zen Res, Gilt City, would all be considered intro offers. If you have previously visited Set and Flow Yoga and taken a class, you are no longer eligible for an intro offer.
- Why can’t I use the Groupon I purchased?
Set and Flow offers 1 intro package per customer. A Groupon is an intro offer. If you have already been to Set and Flow and have taken a class, you are not eligible for another intro offer. Groupon will refund your purchase or we will credit it towards a monthly membership.

We also have day passes for 25.00 and a Weekend Warrior Membership for 49.99 and unlimited classes all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
- Why is the membership to SNF so inexpensive?
Our big rooms and busy classes allow us to offer a product that is high in volume while low in cost to our customer. And our owner lives in a cardboard box, eats ramen and repurposes lost and found yoga mats and water bottles as furniture and glassware respectively.
- Is there a waterfountain?
Yes, in the back by the yoga room. It’s filtered, it’s enviormentally friendly and it’s great for filling up Set and Flow water bottles.
- How come you won’t give me ice?
For health code reasons, we can’t fill personal water bottles or cups.
- Can you make the room hotter?
Are you nuts? We top out at 105f. If you want it hotter than that, there is a 26 studio somewhere nearby.
- Can you make the room cooler?
We do have non-heated classes at SFY. The reason most of our classes are hot is because of customer demand and health benefits.
- Are you opening more Set and Flow Yoga studios in the future?
- Why did you change the schedule?
It is inevitable that our class schedule will change. The instructors on the classes will also change. We do our best to accommodate the wants and needs of our customers but a studio schedule is a living thing. It grows, it matures, it changes. It SETS and it FLOWS.
- I have an injury, is it okay for me to workout?
I’m not a doctor, I just play one on TV.
Yoga and fitness instructors are constantly probed on what to do about injuries. Please understand, yoga and fitness instructors are not doctors. They are not qualified to judge what you can and can not do. If you have a injury or health related question, please consult your physician. If you do ask an instructor if you are qualified to take a class, we will insist you bring a sign off from your physician.
- Why do you call yourself a yoga studio when there is so much more?
In the West, we practice yoga as a movement. We practice Asana which is the Sanskrit name for poses. But yoga is much more than just asana.Yoga is about the way you live your life. The way you treat others. The way you move. The way you breathe. The way you quiet the mind. The way you concentrate. The way you meditate. The way you find bliss. Set and Flow Yoga incorporates many aspects of the yogic tradition in even our fitness and weight bearing exercieses.
- Can I put my auto-pay membership on hold?
Yes, you can “Pause your Flow.” For $15/month we will put your membership on hold. You can even take 1 class/month during your pause period. With “Pause your Flow” your auto-pay membership price will not increase when you’re ready to flow again. To “Pause your Flow” email: firstname.lastname@example.org and request your account be paused for the next pay cycle. We do not pause membership once your cycle has already started. “Pause your Flow” is a 30 day minimum.

Yes, you can cancel with 30 days notice. To cancel your membership you must send an email to email@example.com. We do not accept verbal requests for termination. There are no refunds for missed cancellations.

- Can someone else use my membership?
No. All customers must have their own profile. Memberships can not be split, transferred, etc.
- I’m a beginner, what class do I take?
All of our classes except for the ones marked *advanced are open to beginners. Please tell the instructor if it’s your first time and they will place you in the appropriate section of the room and give you added support. As a beginner, we advise that you take breaks, watch people in the class and familiarize yourself with the sequencing. What seems foreign now will soon become second nature. Try to stay in the room and have fun.
- What does SET and FLOW mean?
There are two types of workouts, a set series that is the same poses in the same order every time. A flow is a workout that changes but uses patterns to connect the sequences together. Like a rock in a river is SET. The water moving around that rock FLOWS.
- What do I get with the SET membership?
Un-limited access to all of our classes.
- Why do I get charged for not showing up to class?
To best facilitate the needs of all of our customers, we want to make sure no one misses a class when space is available. A $5 penalty is assessed to encourage customers to attend or let the studio know at least two hours prior that the space is available for another customer.
- Why can’t I use my glass water bottle in the studio?
We understand the benefits of glass water bottles unfortunately the benefits do not outweigh the risks. Broken glass is a serious hazard in a barefoot studio and glass break happens with glass water bottles more than you might think. If you want me to send you a picture of my friend with glass all cut up in her foot, I can and will. Fortunately it didn’t happen at Set and Flow.
We highly recommend Hydroflask hydration. They are BPA and Phthalate-Free and our instructors love them. We sell them up front.
- What is the name of the dog running around the studio?
That’s Maggie. She’s a Portuguese Water Dog, a service animal and loves attention. Occasionally she gets our of our field of view and roams into a yoga class or locker room. Sorry if she ate your sandwich. No you can’t steal her.
